barbara bush...hehehe, bush

just to "break" the "news"...barbara bush is NOT engaged/married. no not old barbara bush, or "babs" if you will. that's just gross. and yes, she is married, though i'm not sure to who. i'm talking the younger, hotter (to some), twin barbara bush. i know, it was really stressful for you guys trying to get through the night wondering, is she, isn't she? what's going on? well relax, it's all good. not only is she not engaged, but there's just no way in hell the ring she's wearing could be at all thought of as an engagement/wedding ring. but that's cool, it had been a seriously long time since i had heard anything about those chicks. not sure what that's all about, but i hope it doesn't mean they've stopped being awesome.

i'll tell you something that excites me. in the pants. daily scott stapp news. what in the hell is going on? i mean, i understand, new cd, all by his lonesome, blah blah blah. but even when creed was together i don't remember seeing so much about scott stapp. it's fucking fantastic though, cause this is one man who does not have a grasp on reality. go ahead and check that article out for yourself, and then go ahead and add that to what you read a few days earlier (see: "311, i am ready to fight."), and tell me this isn't one hell of a celebrity. a guy who just knows that no matter what he says or does he'll still be rich, so it's all good. a guy whos just knows how to make my day better. for those not inclined to read the whole article, a few of my favorite quotes would be...

"I think it's going to be like when Sting left The Police." (wha? seriously?)

"He won't allow speculation about whether he's a Christian artist (he's not)." (he is)

"Jealousy started setting in," Stapp says, "and egos." (his)

"I just felt hated so I wanted to go away." (so far away, to the land of solo artist where no one will ever see or notice him)

"As much as we were successful, it was a painful success, at least for me." (and by painful i can only assume he means the effort it takes to make his face look so dumb, as well as the energy expended pulling his "love clone" into a rowboat, and, you know, counting his money and cutting satan in for 10%.)

what confuses me about all of this, specifically this article here, is that cnn actually portrays him as he says he is, and not the insane egomaniac that everyone knows he is. but like i said, a day of scott stapp news is a good day by me.

i know i said i was done talking about the bills, but i also said i was sure i'd come back and talk about them anyway. so, the bills have decided not only is their season done, but let's apparently start blowing up the team. or so it would seem. suspending moulds for no real reason is just the first step in setting off every veteran on that team that is ready to win, and could win if this goddamn team could put together an offensive line. but that continues not to happen, and this team continues to go nowhere. so, i look for a marlins style fire sale in the next year or so. that should be fun.

i should be watching lost tonight. i am not. thanks a lot abc. merry fucking christmas to you too.

i gotta say, i wasn't really too interested in the off court nba dress code that was introduced this
year. is it dumb that it has to be mandated? yeah, probably. could players stand to class it up a bit at press conferences and shit? yeah, probably. but this long shorts fine is just crazy. there are just so many other issues w/in the nba to be addressed before you try to go and bring back larry bird style shorts. for instance, make your product at all interesting. i can't tell you how fucking much i used to love the nba, in the 80's and 90's. it was great. college basketball didn't compare to larry vs. magic, celts/lakers, celts/pistons, pistons/lakers. the nba was just fantastic. and then jordan came along and carried the whole goddamn thing on his own. bulls/blazers would be a laughable idea today, but back then it was one hell of a finals. clyde the glide. many others. the league had stars, scoring, franchises, and games that were worth watching. last years finals was a matchup between what were hands down the two best teams in the league, but goddamn could i just not really get into it. and that was a finals w/ timmy d, a dude you just can't help but love, and a uconn all time great in rip hamilton. but christ almighty was it boring. it's not even so much the series itself, it's the flow of the games, and the utter lack of intensity. and to go ahead and attack the players like this, and go after the length of their shorts is just pointless. and to think that kevin ollie is an offender of this "offense" just shows how laughable this whole idea is.

man he's holding onto that mustache.

also, can the death of reggie lewis be directly attributed to the death of the nba? i'm looking at the dates, and it's not such a far fetched idea to me.

so yeah, what else? well, baseball happenings are exploding everywhere. i'd love to get into them all, but there's too damn much happening and not happening to really say much about it right now. once the winter meetings wrap, and free agents start getting signed left and right there should be a better picture of what's happening. so next week maybe. that being said, it's looking like johnny damon is coming back to boston! woo! though i am lamenting the loss of doug mirabelli, a very important piece to this team the past few years. though before i get too excited about damon's return, i did hear all day about how trevor hoffman was going to the indians, so, yeah...

ok, that's really all i've got to say to you people today. you people? what do you mean, "you people?" yeah, seriously, what's my problem? anyway, do your best to stay nice and toasty, as it has become an almost unsafe level of cold out there. unless you live in the midwest, then you can pretty much remove the "almost part." and to those in the northeast, enjoy fridays snow. if i don't post, it's only because too much snow fell directly onto my cable connection. and that would such. no interweb would make it awfully hard to post. and do other things. like live.

stahl
