thanksgiving 2, the aftermath

what a thanksgivng that was. totally exceeding expectations. and trust me, they were very...low, to say the least. i was actually looking forward to the worst thanksgiving ever for me. luckily it turned out to be far from that, and actually a pretty enjoyable day. for starters, it snowed like 4-5 inches at my house. that was something to wake up to, and was just fucking beautiful. luckily it's still completely fucking freezing, and still a snow covered wonderland today. yesterday was also home to what may have been the best turkey i've ever had. my cousin really knocked that one out of the box, which is even more impressive since i've had him cook holiday meals before that were undercooked and beyond awful. i believe he hit up willams-sonoma to combine a few things, resulting in all around turkey goodness. now if only all the sides weren't a horrible mess of shit. next year...

hope your thanksgiving was equally tasty. if not i hope you have the pleasure of tiny little "baby" cousins, nieces/nephews, kids of your own, whatever. they can make anything interesting. i, luckily, have many older cousins who now had tiny little babies, each one cuter than the last. who's the cutest? well i'm not gonna say that, but i think we all know who it is. i will pass along this bit of info. one thing babies love? to be mocked. it's something most people grow out of, but before they can speak entire sentences, babies love to be mocked. in fact, if they're all loud and yelling for no reason, do a quick impression for them and follow it by saying, "that's you. that's what you sound like." that'll learn 'em real quick like.

did anyone else want to stab, in the eye, all involved w/ producing/annoucing the parade yesterday? on any network. cbs was a total fucking joke, w/ their announcers coming off like retarded monkeys. and nbc was no better, w/ katie couric and matt lauer spouting their inane babble, as they tend to do. but i would have taken that, painfully so, but still i would have taken their stupd shit over never having to see al roker ever again. i never used to have a problem w/ al roker before. ever since that asshole had his gastric bypass, and looks like a goddamn creepy puppet now, he's decided that he's super cool and people actually want to see him be a "comedian." al roker has probably never said a funny thing in his life, but to keep that shit up, looking like the freak show that he is now, it's just too goddamn much. wrap it up al roker, wrap it the fuck up.

to all those who ventured out today, thanks for keeping our economy afloat. personally i'm at least halfway done w/ my shopping ahead of today, and would have to be dragged out of the house to attempt to "shop" today. but goddamn, anyone who got the paper yesterday, and took the full two hours it took to look through all the flyers, you may have noticed some insane deals today. almost too good to be true, which it turns out it is, because no one could get in, find their stuff, check out and tracel to the next store in the time these "early bird specials" were running for. it seems you'd have to pick two stores you were most interested in and hope you got what you wanted at those two. anyway, black friday, gotta love it.

my cat is currently entertaning herself by walking on a plastic bag. seriously. i think she just likes the sound. and now she's plopped down and decided that's where she's gonna hang out now. crazy bastard.

now on w/ the real things. you may have noticed my love for penny arcade over here. well, i'd just like to send my congratulations to tycho and his wife who on tuesday brought home the NEW "tycho 360." now it's babies all around over at penny arcade. i'd say i can't wait for the site to go downhill w/ all the chatting about babies that's sure to happen now, but as we've established, a) i love babies, and b) there's already been plenty of baby talk, and it's been just as funny, if not funnier, than their regular stuff. today's post for instance. i should also mention today's cartoon is super fantastic, though having nothing to do w/ babies.

w/ one coming into the world, sadly one must depart this earthly realm, or something. and it seems that on this occassion it was none other than mr. miyagi himself. do i know "pat morita"? no, not so much. i hear he was on happy days, but i've never actually watched an entire episode of the show. i'm sure he did other things (one of his last works was for the entourage "lost scenes" that were on demand. his was prety hilarious, w/ gary coleman i do believe) but to me, and i'm sure at least one entire generation, he will always be mr. miyagi. or miyagi-san. your choice. 73 sure does seem to be too early to be dying these days, but it's possible there's a new daniel-san in heaven who needs to be trained quickly for the upcoming tournament. if so, let's hope he gives mr. miyagi less shit than that original whiney fuck.

borat has decided to throw his opinion in on the kazakhstan vs. ali g/sacha baron cohen issue. good for him. it's about time those kazakies (?) stood up to one man. tell the world borat, tell the world!

man, this texas/texas tech game is good as hell! that is all on that topic at this time right now here!

ah...other things? well, there's nick and jessica, the xbox 360 issues, some guy stealing legos, beckett to the sox, uconn winning the maui invitational, and of course, lost ruling. i think that's about it for now, i'll go more in depth on the beckett trade in my sox write up, that is FINALLY here this coming week. now i'm off to go enjoy a second thanksgiving dinner, just for fun, and i'll chat w/ all y'all fools next week. my final words of wisdom as i leave you...if you go out to the movies, and you have a chanec to see any of the fantastic releases that are very worthy of your money, do yourself a favor and see "in the mix." you will not be disappointed. or i won't be. one or the other. why not go and go and see it, just to find out who ends up disappointed? oh usher, you are something special. and thanks something to be thankful for! and i'm outta here! later.

stahl
